Tribute from Adelaide

On that faithful day with tearful eyes I watched you pass away, as that innocent heart stopped beating. Sitting by your beside each night during your last days, I prayed to God each night to spare your life but God broke our heart dearly to prove to the whole world that He only takes the best. Daddy you are indeed the best in everything. The best husband to mommy, the best father to your nine children and the best grandfather to your eight grandchildren.

Daddy, it is impossible to express the years of my life spent with on earths in these few words. You have been the center of every milestone in my life—my wedding day, the birth of your grandchild and even my graduation.

I will forever cherish that day you walked me down the aisle to the most wonderful man on earth Kweku Boateng, whom you fondly called Akyaku. Daddy, Agyaku misses you. He says you are the most wonderful father-in-law any man could ever ask for. He says the passion you had for the work of God was inspiring and incomparable.

Bernard is growing up each day and exhibiting all the proclamation and blessings you showered on him during his christening and the many other times you spent with him. It breaks my heart each day knowing that your unborn grandchild will never get to know the wonderful grandfather you were and will never get to enjoy the most popular game you played with your grandchildren: “sea saw bababa.”

Oh Daa, how I wish you could have lived one more week to see me graduate from pharmacy school. I know how much my graduation meant to you. Tears fill my eyes every time I hold the attire you had planned to wear on my graduation. Daddy even though the day was not the same without you, I know you were very proud of me and cheering me up saying “WOYE DOCTOR!”

Daddy, I miss you so much. I will forever miss that special smile, the special heart and that special warm hug I received anytime I saw you. You will forever be that special father who can never be replaced. You will always remain in my heart. I love you daddy
