Aps. Dr. Felix Elvis Antwi
The man who served God's purpose
Tribute from Diana
On May 2, 2013, I watched my biggest fan and cheerleader give up his last breath while doing what we both loved- worshipping. It was more than a shock to see you pass onto glory. Daddy, you were to the world a gallant man of God who was all but passionate about the things of God, but you remain the ever loving Dad who was there for me.
I remember the letters you used to write to me when you served in missions in Sierra Leone. As a 14 year old I always looked forward to receiving those letters, it made me know event though you were far away I was always on your mind. Daddy, despite your busy schedule you always made time to talk to me one on one. I can recall one of our discussions when I expressed my feelings for Joseph way before I gave him an answer.
Daddy, I remember the look on your face when you first saw me sing on stage, it was the look of a proud father who was grateful to God for such a gift. I have always kept your advice to see my gift as a ministry. I can still hear you telling me ‘Dianee you need to yearn for heavenly song, Dianee you need to yearn for extra-ordinary songs, get them in verses, not two-word songs.’ Thanks for your input into my ministry, my biggest fan!
Does this mark the end of you calling me ‘Dianee’? All my friends call me that but no one says it better like you do.
I am grateful for the prayers and the offerings you gave to God on my behalf when I was waiting on the Lord for the fruit of the womb. I also remember how you called me every day after I delivered. Oh how I wish you had stayed longer to hear Michaela and Michael call you “Grandpa” and not “Dampaa” as they do now. I am however grateful that you held them in your hands and prayed for them at their christening. Thank you Daddy.
It is indeed difficult to say good bye, but I know you’re in a better place. Rest in peace my best friend, my Dad.
With Love,
Diana
